| 1. Draw the socks. |
2. Shade the socks. |
3. Create a new layer for the stripes. When you draw the stripes, don't do straight horizontals, instead draw lines following the roundness of the leg. Also, don't do all lines in the same shape. The stripes change around the knees and ankles. |

| 4. Select the area outside the socks using the wand tool. Go back to the stripe layer and clear. |
5. Sharpen the stripes. |
6. Hold down Ctrl and click on the stripes layer in the layer window. The stripes should now be selected. Delete the stripes layer. With the selection still intact, activate the socks layer and copy and paste. That will give you a cutout of the socks, but just the stripes. |

| 7. Change the colour of the stripes to your liking. |
8. Done! |
