| 1. Choose the doll. |
2. Start by determining the center of the light source. |
| |
| 3. If you're unsure where the light would fall, it helps to draw a few help-lines. Make sure you draw these on a seperate layer. |
4. Create a new layer. Pick any colour and draw the areas on where you want the light to fall. |
| |
5. Use the Smudge tool to soften the areas you just drew. Areas further away from the light should be more vague than areas close to the light. |
6. When you're done smudging there are probably some pixles outside of the doll. Remove these. |
| |
| 7. Select the Magic Wand Tool, hold Cntl, and mark the layer by clicking on the active layer in the layer window. Delete the smudged layer. Go to Edit > Copy Merged. This will copy the selected area. Paste as a new layer. |
8. Go to Image > Adjust > Variations and add more yellow and some red to the layer. |
| |
| 9. Change the layer to Overlay in the layer option. |
10. Create a new layer. Pick a light orangy colour. Select the Paintbrush tool size 100 and add a big soft spot. |
| |
| 11. Remove everything outside of the doll. |
12. Change the layer to Screen. |
| |
| 13. Opacity on 100% can look a bit too bright, so I've changed the Opacity to 30%. |
Animations can look quite festive =) |
